Two ships from Djibouti carrying Indians evacuated from Yemen will reach Kochi, India, on Saturday.
According to media reports, 475 Indian, Bangladeshi and Yemeni citizens of Indian origin are onboard the vessels.
The port officials are working in close coordination with immigration and customs authorities to ensure a speedy clearance of passengers at the port.
The Non-Resident Keralite Affairs (NORKA) department in coordination with the Indian Railways have made arrangements for their onward travel.
Bangladeshi officials have already arrived in Kochi to receive their nationals.
Responding to the requirement for evacuation of Indian citizens, the Shipping Ministry arranged the vessels of Lakshadweep Administration, MV Corals and MV Kavaratti, which together have a capacity to evacuate 1,150 passengers.
India has evacuated some 17,000 of its citizens from conflict zones during the past 10 months. Many of them were nurses from Kerala.
According to authorities, this would be the last evacuation of Indians from Yemen by the sea route.
